Celerity

Post by Zodiachus »

Now, this is one cool discipline! This game is full of all kinds of little treats, and this is one of them. I like that instead of speeding me up, the world is slowed down (to my perception), resulting in bullet-time like effects.
Now, the description says that each Celerity lasts 14 seconds. Is that 14 seconds to MY perception, or to my enemies perception. If it is 14 seconds to my enemies perception, then it should last longer and longer (to my perception). If it is to MY perception, then it should last shorter and shorter (to my enemies perception).
Those of you who know relativity theory will know what I am talking about :D

Interesting :P Later speeds of celerity are insane and it does seem like it lasts more than 14 seconds (our time); even if you get the +25% to all discipline charm, it seems more than that. It's fun to go Matrix-style with that disc and take out a room of people :D

That's why gun-toting Toreadors are so insanely fun to play as. You get a much better "Matrix" experience than any game so far (even Enter the Matrix, probably). I'm holding out for Matrix Online, but until then, this is the King of Bullet Time (take that, Max Payne!)

And yes, I think the 14 seconds are relative to the outside world. If you do a timed quest with celerity on, for example, you notice the time ticking by much slower... things like that point to it being 14 for the outside, and then you get the 50% or so longer because you're moving so much faster.

Ah, right! The graveyard mission shows that the seconds are indeed ticking by slower than normal.

I think Toreador is the most fun to play so far, although I haven't gone Malkavian yet (which is supposed to be an experience!).
