Endings

Post by Geralt »

First of all, sorry for my poor English :)

I really don't like the La Croix ending :(
He wasn't a bad guy, neither was I... :)

So, I would like to ask you, guys did the endigs of Bloodlines justify your hopes?

Try some of the other endings. There are 5 paths you may be able to take based on your prior game actions. Some are hilarious and make the role playing experience better than the ones you listed.

Most definitely not.
They all sort of disappointed me, with the 'No Allegiance' ending being the best and the 'Anarchs' ending being the worst.
They all were too short and lacked CGI movie goodness.
Some nice epilogues for the main NPCs wouldn't have hurt either.

Nice game anyway.

Agreed, on top of all the bugs, spending some time on some CG video, some decent dialog bewteen the characters and a few flashy speical effects would have made those endings a whole bunch more rewarding... Mind you, having lived through the whole experince was a reward in and of itself!

How so? They're pretty much the same thing, with some minor exceptions.

As for my favorite, it's the Camarilla. I always liked Strauss more than LaCroix, Nines, Ming Xiao, etc.

I kinda agree with that too... it's not the "coolest" ending but philosofically speaking Nines brought out the worst in me while LaCroix and Ming where practically the same kind of animal. Strauss on the other hand knew when to shut up, making him a more dangerous politician but definatly a better one.

Geralt: check out the "walkthrough" that game banshee constructed (you can find a link through the front page). It contains info on how to unlock the different endings and a few screenshots too just to make it look all pretty.

Well, for me 'No Allegiance' is the best ending because:
+ It includes Jack's little A.S. 'prank'
+ You get be all 'Yojimbo'-like, do your thing, show them the rude finger and walk off into the sunset ... I mean ... night
+ It really makes sense that you have to hack through Ming-Xao's and LaCroix's armies all by your self since, well, you actually are on your own

Well my opion of 'Anarchs':
+ It also includes Jack's little A.S. 'prank'
- That's it! Wannabe frenchman LaCroix blows himself up, Jack and Messy the mummy have a good laugh, "Caine"(yeah right) mumbles some stuff, end of story!
- Not even a 'thank you' from nines for freeing LA!
- Oh and why on earth could the Anarchs not even spare a single ghoul to aid me in my fight against LaCrook and Ming-vase???

To be fair this was the last ending I achieved and by that time I was hoping that it would have some redeeming qualities.
Had I gotten it first I would have probably liked it ... a bit.

Do I seem agitated?

As always, SPOILERS ALERT!

Agreed! The anarch ending narced me a great deal! I just killed a Werewolf, like, not 15 mins ago.. Oohh! Nines is so happy with himself:
"Look at me, I killed a werewolf and got away with half my face just fine! La dee da! Now go kill the prince all alone, blah blah"
Hey knuckle head!! -I- just killed a werewolf UNSCATCHED.. I think -I'M- in charge now! Why don't -YOU- go kill the prince and I'll stay here and chill out with the firey little anarch chick eh? And what about that bald black guy? Skelter? Why can't he help me fight? What is he doing??
Okay okay, so I go, I obey... Like a good little "Free living anarch" would... And kill the prince. Am I rewarded? Heck no! Am I even patted on the back?? Get real... Even the Autarkis (going it alone) ending got me some kind words from Nines! Heck, the ending isn't even clear on if I made it out of that building before it blew up!*Sniffles* All I wanted was a little recognition! WHY?! WHHHYY?!

For my money, it's the Cammerilla ending all the way. I love sticking it to Nines, I love killing Ming and laughing over her ****ey, dead, arrogant KOE slug body... And I love seeing the prince's face when he realises he's been the victim of an elaborate praxis seizure, and if only he'd given me just a LITTLE status, this whole thing would have gone fine for him.
Also, it's the only ending which DOESN'T give a solid answer about whats in the box! I like the idea that there MIGHT be an antedeluvian in there, but nobody is game enough to open it and find out... While I'm less thrilled about the idea that if someone is going to open it, it's the murerous diablorist clan Tremere, it's still a nice touch.

Alright, I'm done... Sorry about that.
