@BS, are the football games that good on a PC? do you play with a joystick. Sports games just scream console to me.
You and me both BS, I'm on way to pick up a GeForce4 4200 Ti. My New Years Resolution will fall just short of nine months.
My only worry is once I break it, I don't how I am going to stay away from the digital crossovers I've been looking at for my stereo. J&W also has a new line of subwoofers due out. Must....have........appetizers!

One way is to look at your bank statement. That might help you.Originally posted by Ned Flanders

That's easily solved with credit cards; I'm sure Flanders gets between 8 and 12 pre-approved credit card applications each week (just like every other American, including children and pets).Originally posted by Minerva

My computer is the same as last year..(Minus a couple of parts I burnt up.)
The only new thing worth putting down for my computer..a 32mb Video card..(up from 8mbs ...what I played both BG1 and 2 on with very little lock ups)

@Weasel-You'll save a bundle on firewood, at any rate.
I have no idea what the specs for my PC are, it's pretty powerful/fast though.

The first rule is "Always exchange the weakest part of the system" - which in fact is my video card.
Unfortunately the second rule is "Always imagine the price you're willing to pay and wait for the component's price to drop to that point". My favorite online store even allows to enter a certain price and you'll get an email when the time has come. $ 150 is not my price. And believe me, I'm patient ...
Hehe, in fact I've been thinking about a 4200/64 MB but I have a certain system for computer upgrades.Originally posted by Mr Sleep
Could i interest you sir in a brand new GeForce Ti 4200, just think of all he visual splendour you could partake in...yours for only $150... don't think about those bills, who cares about the mortgage, student fees, those don't matter. What matters is you and the inner you wants a GeForce Ti 4200, you know it makes sense...

Well I know nothing whatsoever about my computer! Anyone who can PM me a convincing and impressive sounding list of made up stats and speeds and acronyms for my PC for me to post in this thread gets a hug! Go to it!
EDIT - alright...not a hug. Ummm...a bunch of flowers?

"My" current machine is the first AMD-based machine I have ever put together or used. My old computer, now my wife's computer, has a Pentium III CPU, and in the itineration before that had a Celeron in it. Here's "her" computer:Originally posted by Minerva

Soyo SY-7VCA2 motherboard
Intel P3-866 MHz
384 MB PC133 SDRAM
ATI Rage Fury Pro video
Onboard AC97 sound
Samsung 8x8x32x CD-RW
Maxtor 30 GB HDD
Linksys 10/100 network card
I also have a home network (for the geek points) with a Microtek ScanMaker 4800 scanner, Lexmark Z32 inkjet printer and a HP LaserJet IIIp laser printer on it.

Well, here it is. The definitive answer to my computer geekyness.Originally posted by HighLordDave

Sitting in a closet in the corner of the room is this:
Pentium 2 400
Asus P2B-F motherboard
128MB PC133 memory
Seagate 10GB hard disk
Sure, there's nothing too geeky about that, but here's the software:
MS Windows 2000 server
MS Exchange 2000
It doesn't really do anything (yet, it's mostly for 'playing' with), but I have my own server.

Wow Ned, I really feel that I made a difference to your life
We're all geeks, anyone who can list off their computer specifications doesn't need to have a server to be buried in geekdom

What a waste of a good AOL CD. That's right; a good AOL CD. Here are some other uses for them:Originally posted by Weasel
Due to this..I'm thinking of building a fireplace.(Throw in twenty copies of AOL per week)
1. Coasters
2. Christmas tree ornaments
3. Wallpaper
4. Stick them under table legs to balance things out
5. Sharpen the edge and turn them into CD-shurikens
6. Target shooting
7. Birthday gifts
8. Put them in an emergency kit and use them as reflectors to signal passing planes
9. Bury them in the back yard to keep your house from sliding off the hill.
10. Install America's leading internet service provider and join the largets online community in the world. It will only overwrite half of your system files and mess with your TCP/IP and winsock settings a little bit.
See? They're not completely useless.
