Acid traps always trigger???

Post by Nygma »

I'm running a 17th level monk with reflex saving throws of 19; monks also have Improved Evasion, so if they make a saving throw they take no damage period and if they fail, they take half. So traps are a non-issue, right?

I am making virtually all of my saving throws. Everytime I hit an acid trap I take damage. Fire, electricity, sonic traps I trip with no problem, but without fail, I make a saving throw successfully against acid then still take damage.

Is there some reason for this? Or just another bizarre bug?? Anybody else notice this?

Perhaps they are setting those traps up as requireing fort saves? And if so your improved evasion has no effect. Evasion only effects reflex saves.

Well, the console says, "Reflex saving throw versus acid: Success".

Plus, even if it was fortitude, my fortitude save is 18. Sonic is fortitude, and I make those saves without taking damage.

Chalk it up to another bug then.
