monks and katanas

Post by mudassar »

has anyone noticed that monks can use katanas (believe me they can, ive started bg2 over from the beginning with a monk and he was able to equip the katana from the first stash of weapons you can get) but cant get proficient with them? wots up with that? is it just a bug or something or is something wrong with my fully patched version?

Katanas have their own proficiency class.
Are the smaller katanas (ninja-to or Wakizaky) that are in the same class of scimitars ... and thus druids cant use them (???)

I never had a problem giving my monk a proficiency slot in katana, not sure what else to say.

Monks can become proficient with any thief weapon excluding two handed ones.So they can have a slot in Katana altough I don't think that they need it...

Jez, why would a monk want a katana! Having to carry around a sword in one hand would seriously imped ones ability to "go kung fu on yo fu a$$".
Man, I'm chipper.
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.
