Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

Non-commercial radio is great--I just wish more college stations existed, instead of the endless stream of National Public Radio stations with their canned classical, canned public affairs, "lifestyle" news shows and safe specialty programs.

Same here, but it's more MP3's than CD'sOriginally posted by Georgi:
We have a selection of BBC radio stations... I listen to Radio 1, they play quite a variety of new music so it's not so bad.But I still listen to CDs more than the radio.

@Georgi, I've managed public radio stations that were staffed and produced by dozens 60's-types, each with amazing egos, who thought they could do no wrong, and for the most part hated one another. They viewed on-air errors as proof of their individuality. Trying to get them to work towards a single goal was like herding cats.Originally posted by Georgi:
Ummm, yeah. You wouldn't say that if you'd heard our university radio station...
Anything you could throw at me after that would be a joy.

well, my thought on the matter is that if a band makes a good album, they deserve my money. I pay for all the albums of my favorite bands. I won't pay for two or three songs, however. If a band puts out an unimaginative album with a few hits mixed in with crap, i'll download the hits. of course, societies idea of a hit and my idea of good music often don't line up.Originally posted by TheDude:

by the way, mp3 is better quality than typical CD audio. i have no idea why, but i can easily hear the difference listening.
