I liked that quote, Minerva. And it is true... the insane (or at a minimum the socially inept) have trouble discerning when an otherwise harmless action is wholly inappropriate. ie acting out of season ;)

@Waverly: Yes. I changed my opinion about the Pope after seen the quote... I thought he was more ...err, stupid side. :D He proved to be a Medici after all.

Yup. This quote came just after he learnt Doria took the Emperor's service. Before this, the Pope said to the Venetian ambassador that Francis I did "madmen act".

Well, Doria left Francis's service because the King took money and land he had at the time, and ignored the condition Doria asked. Doria wasn't paid for his service for some time, and also the King kept Savona under himself though it belonged to the Genoese.

The Pope, the Emperor and many others knew losing Doria and his fleet would be worse than losing a city or two. In fact, the day after the Pope said this, he received news that Savona surrendered to Doria and Genoa.

Interesting, did anyone try to kill the King? For what he had done.

Nope. He was called 'the most Christian King' at the time... And, this is the one who was captured by Charles V during a battle few years earlier...

Many think Charles V largely relied upon his luck to govern so many countries, but he knew diplomacy and international relations very well.

No, thanks. I just had beef. :D

If you watch news in this country, you actually don't want to eat any meat... There are too many dead sheeps on the screen. I avoid to watch while I'm eating...

It's not surprising, Brink. It's Waverly's asylum with Foul being a permanent resident. :D

Who else live here, I wonder...
