I just started up playing ToB with the party i finished SoA with, and is kinda bothered if its useful to have my brother in the party aswell.....

Yes, dualclassing works as you described.
Therefore if you dual Sarevok to thief most of ToB will be over when he gains his fighter abilities back...

APR bonus of the bow is useless when you get whirlwind attack...
