It's been a while but I recall I had to us Shadow Keeper when I wanted to turn him into a Rangr/Cleric, couldn't do it in game for some reason. My memory aint the best though.

Valygar has an initial Wisdom score of 14. Now, correct me if I´m wrong, but which parts of SoA and ToB allows you to boost his Wis all the way to 17? None, as far as I remember, and according to my memory, the primary stat in both the original class and the dual-class have to be 17 for dual-classing to be possible, right?

I knew there was some reason I had to cheat to DC him. You're almost right Darth Malignus, the primary attribute of the class you're duelling into has to be 17, so to DC into a Cleric you'd need 17 Wisdom. However the primary attributes for the original class 'only' have to be 15.

What´s the primary attribute for Valygar again? Constitution or Strength? I always forget.

To be frank I don't know in 2nd Edition, that edition changed Rangers and made them (initially) useless, so never bothered. In original AD&D the prime attributes where, IIRC, Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom and Constitution.

Just checked the Prime attributes are Strength, Wisdom and (for some inexplicable reason) dexterity.

Can't Dual-Class - Boards o' Magick
Ranger to Cleric dual-classing needs: 15 STR/DEX/CON and 17 WIS. Cleric to Ranger dual-classing needs: 17 STR/DEX/CON and 17 WIS.

Ahh, a little searching will go a long way.

They got the answer mostly right, they got the lat part wrong, to DC from a Cleric to a Ranger you only have to have 15 Wis.

We'd already arrived at those conclusions (apart from the error) anyway.
