BG1 is pretty good....

I started BG1 with the intention to play all the way through BG2:ToB. I could have picked a better character but I like Dwarves so I am playing a Dwarf fighter/cleric. The game is much more challenging then BG2, IWD or the others with this engine. I beat BG2 several times 2 ...

I wanted to play BG from start all the way up through BG2:ToB. So I bought BG:TotSC not long ago and yesterday installed it. I then patched it up to Version 1.1.4315. The BG I am running is the full version with both BG and BG:TotSC on 3 discs. My box is a P4 with WinXP and a G-force 3 ...

I read IWD trilogy a long arse time ago (when they first came out...like 88) and they are very good books...although i hated the DL saga so much i didn't rea any more D&D novels....

heres what i did...buffed up before the fight (holymight, haste)...have at least 2 with bows (my thief is an xpert archer)...mage casts missle spells exclusively on the freak lady....3 heavy class bum rush her...that makes all 6 attacking her...she went down fast ...

bashing is good....

got all 3 installed
in Upper Dorns now and im even more impressed.....i can't get enuff of this game....hehe

i feel i must say this game is exceeding my expectations....truely a top quality product :D It runs extra smooth...i'm running it right now with irc open and downloading a HUGE file!! Mind you this is on 56k with a not so sweet comp....one of the cleanest games i've played in forever ;) ;)

welp i would say make sure you have bastard/long sword, morning star, axe and someone with bow...mainly cause there is good magical ones early on in the game.

as far as "racking up" XP the Kuldahar pass and Vale of Shadows (if you are early on in the game) can be good places to get XP, Yeti's are ...

i'm soloing a monk through SoA/ToB and seem to be doing fine...cept one lil prob, i can't open locked chests. Usually i can force a door but not chests...i tried most things i could think of...am i misssing sumthing or this the way it goes?
