The TETRAX facility is really the centerpiece of Terance. It's where the most important storyline in the location plays out. Buried years ago to eliminate a psychotic artificial intelligence also known as TETRAX, the place was reactivated through a partnership of Gully Dog bandits and Jacob Phillips, a lunatic in his own right who wanted to clone his dead wife, Maura. If you hang out in one of the yards in town, you can see some of the results of this experiment. They're creepy.
The facility is damned creepy too. Something we really enjoyed was actually somewhat of a happy accident. You could hear the zombies, known as Diggers, moaning throughout the complex. And, every once in a while, you'd be alone in a room after clearing it, only to see a door open nearby, letting in ANOTHER of those persistent zombies.
