The cathedralesque scale allows for hilarity. Tall rooms mean tall statues, and those propped up by wooden scaffolding can be easily toppled... and if you're lucky (or clever), they'll take out enemies as they fall.
Of course, if you concentrate on magic skills you can also freeze bad guys in place and watch them shatter on impact. Then shrink half the survivors to Lilliputian proportions and stamp on them. And levitate the rest clean out of the window 50 feet above.
