EverQuest II Reviews

A couple of new reviews for Sony's EverQuest sequel surfaced on the web over the past weekend. The first is at WarGamer with no overall score:
EverQuest II is a great sequel. There has been a large amount of care and time spent making the game all it could be, and as such EverQuest II is a great MMORPG which mixes some of the old with some of the new, either of which might turn of new players, or old fans, but there is still plenty here to like. Is it enough to compete with the much more casual World of Warcraft and its legions of fans? That's a thought best saved for a bigger article comparing the two MMORPGs, but for anyone who has loved EverQuest in the past, there's no reason not to try out the sequel. There's even a free download trial for EverQuest II. We'll just have to wait - or play, play, play - for another five years to see how well this behemoth fares, but I have a feeling it will be just fine.

And the second is at GameAxis with an overall score of 7.9/10:
Veterans of EverQuest and other MMORPGs will undoubtedly enjoy the new experience EQII has to offer, plenty of quests to do, diverse zones to explore, an exciting combat system, and a robust crafting system which promotes inter-player dependencies together with a player driven economy using the in game market bazaar. New players to the genre may find the game a tad deep and feel overwhelmed, needing some time to pick up on the steep initial learning curve to fully enjoy themselves. No worries, everyone learns after one death too many.
