3. Three Words: "World of Warcraft." If anything is going to make people sit up and take notice, it's the addition of a couple of big dogs to the pack. There are many intriguing MMOGs out there, both live and in development, full of promise and potential, but let's be honest here: was 2004 going to be about anything but World of Warcraft vs. Everquest 2? It's not a reflection of the quality of other MMOGs, it's just a fact of life. The Big Bads get the attention, and the vast majority of gamers, given the choice to play WoW or EQ2, or Wish, are going to opt for one of the first two. As good as Wish may have been, its timing was lousy. One does not step into the ring with the champ unless one is prepared to be hit. Hard.
