SpellForce Interview

Gamer's Pulse has conducted an interview with Phenomic's Martin Löhlein, asking the senior producer and product manager several questoins about the RTS/RPG hybrid. An excerpt:
Q: SpellForce seems to be the start of a new series; unfortunately when a game like this becomes successful, it isn't long before clones start arriving. What are you hoping to do to keep future games fresh? What things were not included in SpellForce that you would love see developed/added in a sequel?

A: Anybody trying to clone SpellForce is in for quite a surprise. It was an awfully huge project and an awfully tricky one, too. We have pretty long lists of what we would like to see in future titles but especially with a feature heavy game like SpellForce it is essential to focus on the core points. It is not yet decided what a sequel will look like, but I can assure you that it will be fresh. We do not believe in cloning our own titles and just updating the technology. Innovation is one core element of SpellForce which we do not intend to loose for any sequel.
