Beyond Divinity Peek of the Week #25

The twenty-fifth installment of RPGVault's "Peek of the Week" feature for the upcoming Divine Divinity sequel is now available. This time, Larian's Lynn Vanbesien talks about the life of a game developer. Check it out:
Our main focus is now the demo. Mike, for example, is creating extra tactics, Ike is updating the images and adjusting the random character generator in a way that the randomness will make sense all the time - which isn't always the case right now. Yann is currently working on the editor to be able to add extra animations - like a fire geyser, for example - which makes the world become more alive. Of course, bugs need to be fixed and that's what Kris is mainly busy with for the moment. Furthermore he is adding tutorials to the game, sounds to the interface... Fabrice concentrates on random quest generation for the battlefields. Jeroen makes sure that Act 3 will bring the most hardcore RPG players to their knees, begging for their mommy. Andre is cranking up some interface graphics and finishing minor things that are still missing in the game. After that, he needs to go through the game and check for all the small things that are usually overlooked by the testing department (because the latter is mainly focusing on "normal" bugs and balancing) like buttons that are not in the exact position, holes in alpha channels... Marian is fine tuning some of the last monsters and checking them together with Ike to see if everything looks okay after exporting. He created some small animals and some extra animated objects to make the world more alive, and finished the very last character icons.
