The Shadow Sun Character, Monster, and Building Artwork

Ossian Studios has been busy doling out new artwork and background snippets for The Shadow Sun over on their Facebook page, so we've taken it upon ourselves to mirror all eleven pieces of new eye candy in our image gallery and highlight some of the textual goodness in the quote section below:
The Shadow Sun Characters

These are renders of the high poly male versions of some of the armours the player can wear, along with one of the game's companions that you can adventure with. These models are then reduced to a low poly version for the game, while preserving the detail. The white heads in these shots are because players can choose their appearance in the game, so the head is left blank (no it's not a strange robot!).

The Shadow Sun Monsters

These are renders of the high poly versions of some of the monsters from The Shadow Sun. The character artists start off by modelling a high poly version with millions of polygons and then reduce the creature to a lower poly ingame version, while preserving the detail. Each of these monstrosities have their own vile combat abilities, so unless you're prepared to fight, get ready to (run away!) a la Monty Python.

The Shadow Sun Concept Art

At the start of the project, we decided that creating all the art assets in the game from scratch was the only way to achieve the unique look we were going for, instead of buying pre-made assets. The architectural style of the city of Shar, inspired by ancient Babylonia, required a lot of concept artwork be done for all structures, especially the more prominent buildings. Here's some of the concept art of landmarks you come across in the game, showing concept to finished product.
Additionally, there is also this page that features some background information about the voiceover sessions they hosted for the RPG last month along with pictures of five of the voice actors.
