Ok....I have the Game of the Year edition of Morrowind for X-box. I have read several walkthroughs on how to start the Tribunal questline...they all say that it will start the first time i rest. but it does not work for me. below is everything that i have done to try to get it to work...tell me any suggestions PLEASE!!!
Main Character: Put in a cheat using Fortify Attribute and Soul Trap in order to permanently increase my attributes. I completed Expansion: Bloodmoon in 1 day. Then rested in order to play the Tribunal quests. I have rested at LEAST 500 times and nothing has happened. No journal entry, no silent assassin. Nothing...
Now, I know some of you may think it's because i used cheats in my save file. I thought this may have been the reason as well. So i started a new character and did NOTHING but walk outside of Seyda Neen and rest. I tried sleeping in a bed... and once again..... nothing.
so if anybody has some idea's I would greatly appreciate the help... Thanks!
If tribunal is installed there is a CHANCE resting will produce an assassin. And they might not appear right next to you rather somewhere in the building. If you rest over and over eventually one should spawn (assuming tribunal is installed).
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
ok, I thank you for the assistance though I do have to tell you I said XBOX. There is no installing required, it's part of the game. And ever house i slept in was a single story single room building so he would have been right next to me. I even tried going to the guy to start the quest after u kill the assassin. The guard. and nothing
Well any walkthrough that tells you that you'll be attacked the first time you rest, or that you'll get attacked everytime your rest subsequently is not to be trusted. I was shocked to find that was true of the walkthrough on this site, although I've been aware for some time that although the forums are excellent, the walkthroughs leave much to be desired.
I have known it to take a long time and many sleeps before the first attack, and it does have to be sleep, not just waiting. Also I've noticed that if I only set the sleep period for less than seven hours it's very unlikely an attack will occur.

so you'r saying it HAS to be in a bed? alot of walkthroughs say to just walk right outside seyda neen and sleep on the ground... wierd... and i was sleeping at least 15 hours at a time...

No it doesn't need to be in a bed, it can be outdoors. However, if you are in an area where sleeping is not allowed and you have the option to "wait" instead, this will not result in an assassination attempt.
I'm also thinking that the spawn of the assassin must really vary...
usually, my characters are hit very early on, but I have read of people who have found it's taken a very long time.
You may also, at some point want to consider the PC version of the game....

.......All those moments ... will be lost ... in time ... like tears in rain.
I know you can make it happen eventually if you are persistent...Many years ago my first play through I just kept sleeping and killing more and more assassins to sell their gear and train up levels. I think I got up to 20th level lol.

ok, a couple days later and still no attack for tribunal.....I'm thinking of cantacting Bethesda and seeing if maybe something is wrong with my copy or if it's somehow damaged...:speech:
Something does puzzle me, you say that your using an XBox, but also that you've used some cheats. So how did you get the cheats to work?

He's exploited glitches. The soultrap/fortify attribute one.
Delete anything to do with Morrowind from your Xbox, start again, don't cheat. Glitches bugger everything up and will spread through the cache.
