Hey all,
Getting an odd bug all of a sudden, just curious if anyone else has come across it. While running the quests in Modoc, I started noticing that Vic wasn't fighting any more. He'd just run for the hills every battle. I checked his health, which was fine, and he had plenty of ammo for his combat shotgun and hunting rifle. So I tried some fiddling around with his custom combat instructions. He was set to "ranged" and not to run unless really hurt, and he had a good stock of stims. Here's where the weirdness kicked in. I clicked on his "Use best weapon" button, and it switched to "none". I double checked, and yes, he still had the combat shotgun and hunting rifle he'd been using, and all the ammo they needed. So I tried switching him to "Ranged then Melee", and the use best weapon button now forced him to use the wrench he had. So I tried taking the rifles away to try using them myself. The crazy thing is, while their pictures in my inventory and action slots look the same, they no longer list any other info. No AP cost or anything. And the action slots no longer function as buttons. It's as if they aren't coded as weapons anymore and are just random items in the game. I've since tried buying new weapons for Vic, and as soon as he gets them the bug renders them as non-weapons too. It doesn't apply to pistols, as he seems to be able to use the SMG and Desert Eagle so far.
Anyone else come across this one? The only patch I'm currently using on the game is the Killap one. Anyone got any suggestions?

No, just the Killap 1.1 restoration patch. I'd tried the 1.02 on a previous install of the game, but I ran into some graphical problems that I thought might be tied to it. The Ghost Farm, Broken Hills, and the interior of the Hubologist compound in San Fran wouldn't load properly. The action bar on the bottom show up, but all that appeared on top was the red movement hex on a black screen, and when you moved it with the mouse it just copied itself onscreen. Weird as well.
Can the 1.02 be installed after the restoration patch, or do I need to reinstall the game? And if so, will my old save games work?

1.02 must be installed first, then Killap's restoration patch. Also not sure wether the saves will work, propably not well and some strangenes could come up...GenMalaise wrote:No, just the Killap 1.1 restoration patch. No saves do not work in different versions, they just dont show in the load menu. And I read in a forum that without 1.02 patch, you cannot get the new -or should i say old- content work properly.
There will be problems with killaps patch and the only way to fix it is start over I guess.
