How the heck do you open the door? There is a second door up above when you first get through the pendulumns, but I can't figure out how to get up there either.

There's a miscellaneous side quest in which you get the key to Lindai, otherwise there's no way to open that door. However, if you buff your Acrobatics skill enough (it needs to be close to 200) you can jump up to the overpass and get in the "back way". If your raw acrobatics skill is at least expert level and then add the Boots of Springheel Jack and some Fortify Acrobatics potions, scrolls, spells or items, you can do it. You'll still be able to do the quest later, but just a hint - if you happen to find any unique magic items, you might not want to sell them until you do the quest. SPOILER:
