As far as standard items, a quick glance at the inventory for one of my complete-freak characters says Daedric Cuirass is the most expensive armour (4800 gold list price) and Daedric Warhammer is the most expensive weapon (5000 gold). As for enchanted items, the most expensive thing I've found so far is the Mundane Ring (list price a whopping 21600 gold) but there could be other items that are even more expensive that I haven't found yet.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

What exactly does the Mundane Ring do and is it available in the 360 version or only through a mod?

Mundane Ring has reflect spell 35% and resist magic 50%. Not exactly "mundane" in my book :) Available in stock Oblivion on all platforms (no mods required). It's available as random leveled loot from some high-level NPCs, but only one static location (SPOILER:
Spoiler
If you're level 22 or higher when you do the main quest mission "Camoran's Paradise", Raven Camoran will have one
).

you do not find it randomly. it is found on mankor cameron's daughter's body. after that though, there is a .5 chance of finding it in a chest. :)

It can appear elsewhere as random treasure, and it will only appear on Cameron's daughter's corpse if the player is high enough level.
