Frozen Fire Glitch on the xBox 360

Post by snow.white »

Okay,

At some point, after a particular character has been played for more than 500 hours, some manner of corruption occurs within the game which eliminates all movement not associated with the player's character, NPCs, and monsters. Specifically, the movement of things like water, fire, and butterflies is suspended. Also, the light effects of magic cease to work, creating a problem in which the light hangs in the air where magic was cast and magic cast on the character results in swirls of light surrounding them which do not dissipate. That is especially problematic as it is eventually impossible to play 1st person, as you cannot see through the colored lights. Moreover, this glitch prevents the opening of some doors, disables the ability to close Oblivion gates, and presents a number of issues in the Shivering Isles expansion as well. Ultimately, this glitch makes it impossible to continue playing the game in one way or another. Quests become impossible to complete. Thus far, this has occurred with each of perhaps half a dozen characters which our family has collectively created, so it is not isolated to a particular save game or particular circumstances. So, it seems to be related simply to the length of game play. We've mentioned this problem to Microsoft, but they haven't created a patch yet to fix it. Really, they have kind of blown us off. So, has anyone reading this experienced this problem? Does anyone know a way to avoid or fix it?

Maybe your xbox is getting too hot and making it play like that, try buying an aircooler for your 360

There's an identical thread on the same page as this one. Use the search function. Unfortunately you cannot fix it on the 360.
