Hostile vs Friendly

Post by joe05 »

Is there a way to determine who "you should" attack vs those who are friendly.
I'm out of the forrest and into the caverns etc and enemies seem to just, how shall I put it; " do nothing even though they can see me/I'm within spitting distance :)
Then, 1-4 will attack ... if I can funnel them through a door, I'm ok ... though my companion is lightly equipped(.. there for help, not to win the fights) + they won't break contact
Sometimes I shoot a zombie, but the regular NPC's in the area seem to be oblious; then they attack after the fight
I'd rather not take a fireball/axe etc, if I don't have to :)
I'm built for speed/range(... playing unarmored); like a cheetah + jaguar ... not much help indoors

Just using my BlindingSpeed Shortbow(... made via CS).
More for stopping power.
No melee weapon ... if I have or can create room my bow basically acts as a melee weapon
Rather not juice a high damage bow.

Been tinkering with CE-Sanctuary ... between 10-40 ... is there a enemy I should attack to find an appropriate CE-Sanctuary level ... someone who should really test me, but if my build is good, I should win etc
Tried "Dodge" mod, but I get error messages ... seems Dodge mod and Sanctuary do roughly the same thing ? ... avoid attack ... unlesss I'm reading the info incorrectly
Not sure if CE-Sanctuary affects "enemy attack time".

Or do I need to up the difficulty slider = rather not

I'm hesitant to just start shooting ... did I kill a potential MCA-travel companion OR someone needed in the game

Any general tips on "when you can just attack".
Or do you have to take the first attack before fighting back.

I thought you were using Summer this time through? If you are, tell her to use melee weapons and make sure she can only use her Jinxing dagger, paralyzed foes are cannon fodder for an archer.

I tried using her myself (and no, I'm not a Fairyphile :laugh :) using bows, but got fed up with being shot in the back!

In caves, it's pretty much see/shoot, but there are exceptions, but in general if they aint humanoid, 'Cry havock, and let slip the dogs of war'. There are very few tombs that hold friendy/neutral people, I confess if I see a humanoid in a tomb, I assume it's vampire, quaff my resist disease potion, and let rip with the heavy artillery (usually by closing the door, locking it, then firing fireball, 100 radius, max damage I can handle at the door, until everything's dead, NB not to be used with a companion about).

One possible system, is to make sure you have separate saves before entering any cave/mine/tomb, enter, see if they attack, if they do re-load, go in and kill.

I really hate to accidentally kill NPCs when I don't have to, so what I do is enter Sneak mode, and hit "Talk." Almost invariably, you'll get a message saying that said NPC is about to attack, so that way you know you can fire away.(obviously, your "Sneak" needs to be high). If the pick pocket screen comes up, they are "friendly," so obviously you'll want to return to the save you made prior to entering the cave. In my experience though, with the exception of a small handful of quests, most caves, tombs, ruins etc. are inhabited by humanoids and monsters that want to make you into a nice, light snack.

Galraen - saving Summer and Arya.
Will make note of the glass jinkblade ... though, I don't do well with my companions in front of me = I'm no Robin Hood
Any melee companion will have to tolerate me shooting her in the back ... I believe Hilda will work(... if I read the txt correctly)

Downloaded more mods = you know me
Using Ninja Girl/Kumiko.
She is a keeper too.
Give her some darts and away she goes = nice that she rarely runs in front of me
So, I'm doing the Morang Tong quests(... overlaps with Kumiko) + Main quest.
Only two per playthrough = easier to keep track + prolongs the fun :)

Ok, "I'll unleash the Dogs of War".

DW - I sneak like a elephant ... No toggle mode
I have to auto-walk. So, I can't really sneak = unless sneaking in front of people counts :)
I will have to save prior to entering any inside area.
Light snack is it = I'm small and my character + companion are small ... how's that song go:" short people ..."

Doing the Tong quests.
Then, I'll hit the main quest.
Once that's done, it will be a bloodbath ... going to try and find all the Sanguine items
Wonder if it's possible to clear the map/Morrowind :)
