Up the creek @ Nolaluths Valley

Post by Haggard »

Ammon Jarro attacked me when I returned from Shadow Reiver camp and was killed before completing message. Nolaluth valley does not show up on map. I see by an old post that you should be able to insert the location in the .xml file in a save game. But I dont see info for location codes on the site. The other wm codes have a specific abbreviation and a four digit number. So, if anyone can provide the location code, it would be much appreciated. I'm assuming that you can't play through the rest of the game without completing Nolaluth valley quest. A second question is will it be possible to play the expansion game without completing NWM2.

As to your first question, I'm not sure of the location code of Nonolath's Valley. But tinkering with the .xml file could make your game crash and you would be unable to continue. Your best bet is to load from an earlier save.

Anyway, in response to your second question, you can play MotB without completing the original game. But, you might find it slightly dissatisfying because the story is somewhat related to the original.

save games

Thanks for the reply. I have tried using a couple of saved games which did not already have the nolaluth valley quest. On one, the conversation with Ammon Jerro fails to start. On the other, the conversation starts but apparently Ammon dies before it finishes and in both cases I receive the quest, but location doesn't appear on the map. If I can find the code for the location, it would be worth trying, since I don't think its possible to continue without it.

Wow. Ammon attacked you? How did that happen? Did you have negative influence on him or something? Sorry I'm not helping, but this has never happened to me before, so I'm really curious.

I don't think its possible for a party member to attack you in the original NWN 2 game. In the expansion yes.

Anyway if you had wanted to ask a question, you should have started a new thread. Try not to steal other people's threads.

Actually, Ammon is fighting the greycloaks and a worker when I return from the Reiver battle. He shows up as an adversary and Zhjaeve immediately attacks him.He will also start sending offensive spells toward me and the group. His life is almost gone when I arrive so he doesn't last long. Right now I am experimenting with a couple of save games. I have included Ammon in my group so that I could heal him and hopefully he will stay alive long enough to complete the conversation and get Nolaluth valley on the map. So far, I don't seem to be able to defeat the reiver with him in my party. But if I succeed, I'll bring him back to CK and see what happens then.

Just to close this one out. With Ammon in my party, we took care of the Reiver and return to C.K. Conversation was able to complete and Nolaluth valley on the map. Good to be back in the game again/ :)

Thats really funny. Never seen a bug that makes your companions hostile. Not sure if I've ever seen a forum post about it too.
