I'm currently in act 2, and had a question about adamantite. I found stack of it and want to make some cool stuff for that dwarf that loves picking fights. But, I'm not sure what this means:
Material: Metal (Adamantine)
Damage Bonus: Magical [2]
(On adamantite weapons) Does that mean if I enchant it w/ 1d6 fire or something, it increases the fire damage? I'm probably way off so I would love some insight . Also, is there any benefit to make an adamantite set of plate? I've found some decent gear and I'm not sure if worth the trouble to craft and enchant new armor for him. I'm a 15 evocation wizard and any help would be appreciated.
It means that on top of its normal damage it also does 2 magic damage. This is the same kind of damage as spells like magic missile, it doesn't increase another type of damage such as fire damage.
on armor and shields adamantite reduces damage taken (damage resistance). The bigger the armor the more DR.
The problem with adamantite is it takes up a enchantment slot. You can craft a weapon with 3 enchantments and adamantite takes up one. So sometimes 3 enchantments is better than 2 and adamantite.
Also say you craft a +3 sword flaming and want to later upgrade to +5. You can do that with iron, cold iron, and alchemical silver (since they don't take a slot) but with adamantite or mithril all 3 slots are filled so the weapon cannot be upgraded more. Of course you could just start a new weapon over but then you waste the flame gems/essences and the adamantite.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
