Game crash and update problems

Post by Greg. »

I am currently playing through Act 1, and since I have started the game, it has minimised itself periodically - something I can deal with - just open it up again. Then it started crashing, causing me to lose my progress.

So, logic being my first tool of choice, I opened up the update programme and clicked update. First, it updated the updater. So far, so good. Then it downloads the patch and tells me I have insufficient hard drive space. So I check the C:\ drive, and it has 2.8GB space. Now I'm pretty confident that a game that requires 5.5GB HD space to install doesn't need more than 2.8GB to be patched.

Any suggestions to fix either the initial gameplay problem or the patching problem?

No idea about the minimizing problem, but for the second, did you try to manually download and execute the patches? Atari NWN2 Downloads here.

Whenever I use the in-game updater, it downloads .zip files which are then unpacked through the updater and run. If manually updating the game doesn't work for you and gives you the insufficient HD space warning, maybe it's the unpacking process that leads to your problem because you do have indeed not enough HD space.

I live in the UK, and that is the US version... Will it still work?
