Icewind Dale Multiplayer Please Help!!

Post by sidv88 »

I have spent over a week trying to host a TCP/IP Icewind Dale server while using a wireless router. I have almost gotten it to work. However, the other players connect but are dropped almost immediately. The first time, the client player received a message "receiving information from server" before they were dropped. The second time, the client player got as far as "waiting for host to accept new players", before they were dropped. Another time, they got as far as the Character Arbitration screen, where I could see that the player joined. However, the client player could not see any other player (could not see me) on his side of the Character Arbitration screen and had to exit. I have no firewalls and have done all of the port forwarding with the use of a static IP address through the wireless router. Someone please respond and help! Thanks.

Try using a program named "Hamachi" for estabilishing a "fake" LAN network between you and your friends. Due to routers and firewalls etc. on the way of our connections I had problems to play together with my friend in both BG, IWD, IWD2 etc., but they have been solved by using the aforementioned program. Although I do believe if you forwarded all the necessary ports and have no software firewalls present, then my solution might not provide help. I do hope it will, though. Cheers.
