Hermaeus Mora & Clavicus Vile (*SPOILER*)

If I decide to keep Umbra's Sword and refuse to give it to Clavicus Vile, I know it ends that Daedric Quest. Does it keep me from then getting Hermaeus Mora's quest later in the game, i.e. must I be "sucessful" by giving him the sword, or is it just necessary to finish the quest to count for finishing the 14 daedric quests that allows the final one with Hermaeus Mora.

I don't think it's of any influence on other shrine quests, otherwise i would have found out by now. I accidentally stubled upon Umbra on one of my aimless journeys through the lands, went into sneakmode, and killed her with an arrow. I took the sword and i've been using it ever since. I think i was only level 11 or 12 when i came across this sword, and there's no way i'm going to give it up. I have been doing other shrine quests later, like the Molag Bal shrine quest, so no problems there.

Daedric Quests continued

Thanks. Have you done the Hermaeus Mora Daedric Shrine Quest though? That one is spawned ONLY after completing all other 14 daedric quests. I was just curious wheteher completing meant finishing the quest in any manner, or if I had to give up UMBRA, my favorite little soul sucking up buddy. Man that sword is awesome, isn't it?

No i haven't, in fact...i don't think i've ever heard of that one before. Then again...i don't think i ever bothered completing every single shrine quest outthere. Might give that a try next time.

You need to complete the other shrine quests and get so far in the main quest for hermeaous mora. I gave cv that garbage sword so I could get HM and his artifact which is so much better.

If you choose not to give Clavicus vile the sword just go to the shrine and refuse to give it. It counts as completing the quest and you can still do Hermeaus Mora
