Question? : Knights of the nine followers(missing armor/weapons)

I have been running around with one of my followers for Knights of the nine, and I notice he no longer has a weapon and all his armor is gone, he only has on clothing. Is there a reason for this? if so how would I fix it?

The only thing i can think of that might work is if you take them back to the HQ and tell them to stop following you and hopefully they will collect their weapons and armor.
