where exactly do I find the belt of storm giant strength, and also is there anyway to play HoTU without losing all the equipment that I already have.

thank you you mean in the city core in chapter 2 right. Any idea on how i can keep all the equipment I already have

I don't know if you guys consider this a spoiler but better safe than sorry. You get it all back...or at least most of it. I would recommend selling anything not necessary before beginning play because it doesn't all fit into the chest.
