Is gaining stats retro-active?

Post by Troll Slayer »

For instance If I have a fighter with a CON of 18, and I........small spolier below

Use the machine of Lum the mad to gain +1 to my CON, would my fighter gain that +1 HP per level he missed out on for all the previous levels he gained before using the machine?

yes, and if by some strange twist of fate you lose a point of con, you lose the bonus pts also.

Use the girdle of fortitude followed by tenser's on Aerie. She can one of the toughest tanks in the game (still can't get by that #attacks/rd. though.

I guess I should post that Aerie gains a lot of HPs doing this. Plus, you just reequip her girdle of giant strength and she is off and whomping.

Hmm... Aerie is indeed well-suited for absorbing attacks (if Mirror Image and Stoneskin are included). Does anyone have suggestions to increase the damage she inflicts? Giving her Crom sounds like a sin when there are so many more appropriate NPCs for that, and she isn't exactly Queen Dual Wield either... What's a power gamer to do?

The beefed up version of Aerie

Girdle of Fortitude
Girdle of Stone Giant str.
Tensers
haste
sentinel
cloak of mirroring
flail of ages
armor of the hart
ring of earth control
defensive harmony
seventh level aura of flaming something quest spell

and so on and so forth. I don't know...she was at 150 HP with a -16 AC, all kinds of crazy protections, but only two attacks per round. Even still, with the FoA (three heads - SoA), each hit did about 20 points of damage (non critical), she never misses, and she becomes basically invulnerable. Granted, it is a lot of stuff to waste on one small gal for a single encounter but can you picture the look on Minsc's face when aerie shoves him out of the way to bash in the skull of a pit fiend. It is like turning heather kozar into chynna.
