Beauty and the Bandit quest

Post by joe05 »

Guys - I finally stumbled uopn Tel Aruhn.
I did the "Beauty-Bandit" quest near Delgaid(sp?).

I was hoping for a reward = nope
I was going to lure the bandit out and kill him for the jewels = nope

All I did was deliver notes :-)

The next part was: "someone named Esmuette Bracques on Tel Aruhn is someone I should meet etc..." (... the named might be incorrect ?)

The town is small ... I checked every name on the houses; looked in the shops; went into the tower and underground
I did not see anyone with that name.
Is she in this town :-)
I'd like to resolve this quest + hopefully get a payoff of some kind

I'm certain the NPC you are looking for is in one of the shops, or maybe try the Tradehouse (if there is one). The person does exist though, because I've completed that quest at least once.

Shes downstairs in a trade house/pub. I think you get some restore health potions. Just pop in when you next pass through.

Indeed... IMO, the beauty and bandit mission was one of those quests that could have had a much better developed conclusion. The whole thing was pretty anti-climactic... Not so much in terms of reward, IMO, but just in the whole meeting with the NPC in Tel Aruhn, they really could have put a little more imagination into it.

Well, what I found was that there's a glass weapon downstairs. I remember that with one character I got a glass claymore and then I went there with another character and got a glass spear. So in coming all the way there, there is some kind of reward.

... I always seem to get caught stealing; unless nobody is around
I even try to hide/chameleon and open crates/urns OR steal store stuff when somebody is around, BUT looking away or at and angle = I always get caught
I then have to re-load ... got to the point I'd save before trying to steal anything
Everyone in the game must have exceptional; hearing/eyesight.
I'm always low on money, so I try to steal everything I think I can ... maybe I'm going about it incorrectly
Most games, if it's there, there is usually a way to get it ... of course, unless it's right in front of someone ... I wonder if Blind or Paralyze is considered attacking = maybe I could steal a store owner "blind" :-)

Yes, remember the post I had about stealing the glass armor.....at the very least 15 or so re-loads with sneak, potions and spells... and this was with a level around 10-15 if memory serves me right. don't worry Joe, everything, stealing, magic, melee, gets easier as the character grows..... ;)

Need to get back to my dark elf, she's ready to level up to 10.

I'm not that sure Joe was at a suitable level to get the amulet. I was lucky because the people got stuck behind rocks but the one with the bow nearly killed me. Remember AmpaSand that everyone is at a different level so don't go acting as if they're doing something wrong because it might just be because they aren't high enough yet.

@AmpaSand
If I remember correctly Joe was only around a level 10 or so and he just had to to a restart because mod/computer crash....plus he has problems with using the keyboard. and we've been trying to give some gameplay hints that will make it easier for him to enjoy this game.

... I'm now up to level 6
If I run across that amulet, I'll sure try to get it :-)

Right now, my main source of income is kiling the assassin.
I'd wish he would attack me more :-)

I'm basically running around and working on my tactics/spells.
The absorb health spell is a "lifesaver".
If I can ever get my Illusion up(... right now I'm concentrating on WILL/END/STR), I could sure use Paralyze/Medusa Gaze/Chameleon.
But Paralyze at 5sec isn't giving me enough time = the ol' manual dexterity problem
Medusa's Gaze - the % success is too low
Chameleon - I'll need at least 10sec at 100%

Next I need to up my INTL.
Looks like my Illusion spells will have to wait :-(

I remember one game I had where he attacked 3 nights in a row, and a few others where I was needing the money and I ended up just having a restful nights sleep....btw I cannot remember exactly where but ended up one time with arrows that would paralyze, would shoot a couple then run in real quick and finish off....be careful doesn't work too well on a gang at low levels . :D
