My character seems to constantly have a low hit ratio (like minus of 20%) and i cant figure out what to raise to avoid this...

..raising melee helps, as does raising dexterity and perception. Helmets usually lower perception. Lighting affects to hit, so carry a lantern or use a light spell at night or in dungeons. Using weapons and armor too heavy for your strength affects to hit, as does being overloaded. Being cursed is usually bad for to hit. Being crippled in an arm definitely is bad. There's also minuses for using a tech weapon if you have a high magical affinity and vice versa. I think some weapons have alignment penalties as well. Some backgrounds give penalties depending upon whether it's night or day, or star alignment, or whatever.
