Balmora Guards Hate Me

Balmora Guards Hate Me (Possible Spoiler)

Perhaps somebody out there can tell me what to do. Whenever I walk into Balmora, the first Hlaalu guard to spot me flies into a rage and charges in to attack! This all started when I accepted the mission from Larrius Varro at Fort Moonmoth to kill those Camonna Tong guys at the Council Club. Of course, I was ham-handed at it, got into a scuffle with the guards as well. Larrius Varro said he would fix everything with the Balmora powers-that-be, but perhaps I've run into a bug or something. There's no price on my head, incidentally.

Is there something I can do to get these guys off my back? Killing Hlaalu guards is getting old (not to mention difficult). :(

When a guard you've killed re-spawns he still has his 'fight' setting maximised, so will always attack you. If you're playing on a pc, then open the console, left click on the guard and in the console type SetFight 0, this should sort the problem, you could also type in (on a new line) SetDisposition 100

Uhhhhhh, did any guards actually catch you and talk to you before you got to the fort? Because, if so... you might have the death penalty, Basically, if your bounty is too high and you get caught by a guard, they'll all just attack you from then on. It happened to me once (but only with guards in interior cells, somehow  ), and I'm pretty sure that you can't get rid of it once they start attacking you. It might be worth a shot to try galraen's plan, but you may end up having to reload a save from before that mission, and be more of a ninja the second time. ;)
Get up, stand up. Come on, throw your hands up.
