From Maar Gan to Gnisis

Post by March1 »

I can not find my way to Gnisis from Maar Gan. The mountains are in the way. I'm helping Fonus Rathryan, to get to Gnisis, but I can not make it. I end up going in the wrong direction and using up all my time. I;m supose to get there in two days.

Amy information will be greatly helpful. Thank you

I know, the ingame map gets a bit tricky to navigate around Maar Gan. I recommend using the boxed paper map instead, see where the roads lead and refrain from crossing any mountains directly.

If you have lost your paper map (like me) then I believe that there are java-interactive maps than you can access. Maybe one of the moderators can point you in that direction if that is the case. I read somewhere that you can't actually buy a map by itself. But perhaps someone else knows differently.

Why not use the Silt Strider, Maar Gan to Ald-Ruhn, then Ald-Ruhn to Gnisis?

To Tricky

What do you mean by box map? My map works with my game, but it does not show me which road will get me to Gnisis, unless I went that way already. Or I can have the map show me the cities, which does not help getting on the right road.

Wolfie's Den - Games - Morrowind Maps

Try this site. It has several maps of MW, including detailed, zoomed in maps that show roads and such along with place names.

Thank you for the help. I went ahead and tried the Slith Strider. I didn't think it would work since I was taking a someone with me, but it did. Though I still would like to know if one can walk to Gnisis from Maar Gan. So, thanks for the map. Because I like using the roads, because you never know what the game has in store for you.....around the next bend.....

Thanks to everyone for responding to me question.

The easiest way I know between the two towns, excluding the Silt strider is this:

Exit Maar Gan, head west, climb up onto the ridge to your right (it can be done quite easily, believe me, it's easiest just north of the Rothan Ancestral Tomb). Climb down the west side of this ridge and you should come to a Daedric shrine (Maelkashishi), from there it's an easy walk overland due west to Gnisis.

PS Spoiler, highlight to read:

You actually have to visit Maelkashishi for a Temple quest (Cure Bulfim gra-Shugarz ), it's a lot quicker getting there from Maar Gan than the 'scenic' route that Tuls Valen suggests.

This isn't exactly roleplaying, but often with escort quests, if I plan to be on foot, I'll scout ahead and check out the route before having the NPC follow me.
