Car disappeared at Raiders *warning spoilers*

Post by Lazigothi »

I have two things that happened to me when I went to the Raiders cave. I wiped out and looted the Raiders. I return to the cave entrance and my car is gone. There's not even the apparition of the trunk anywhere. I return into the cave and leave through the ladder to the other exit by the well. Neither the car nor the trunk is there either.

I'm not upset since I had yet to store anything in the trunk, so it's merely a "coolness" factor to have the wheels.

*spoiler*

Another thing did happen to me thought that was odd. Roughly SE of the raiders base in a room is a tribal. He doesn't say anything and only "stares at me blankly" when I try to talk to him. He's there doing nothing after all of the other raiders have been killed. He's the only one left. When I climbed the ladder and came back down, he now becomes dead. Did he take his own life? Did the raiders poison him? Would there be something revealed had I something different? I have a CHA of 6 with a 110% in speech and good Karma, and I have Sulik with me. I wonder if the mysterious death and my missing car are somehow linked? Maybe other of Bishops' goons were tracking me and did it all?

That's a common bug, just exit to the world map and re-enter at the cave entrance, the car should be there.
As for Shadow-Who-Walks, after you kill the three raider commanders (the guys in combat armor) and leave the area, you'll get the message that you've weakened the raiders and get 2500XP (I'm not completely sure about the amount of XP). When you return, you'll find all the remaining enemies dead because the quest is simply scripted that way.
What do you want?

About the car, it is also very common that the tip Mr. Pastorius gave don't bring the car back, thus leaving only the options of reinstalling, starting a new game or just trying to xurvive without the car. Basically, you can live without the car itself, only missing the trunk can hit you hard at times when you would want to take lots of goodies to town for selling...

Also, patch if you haven't already. 1.05 removes most of the bugs related to the car, though few minor ones may occur.

You're correct. It didn't work. I do believe that it could work, but I'm about due for a bug. I've already anticipated something going wrong, so I was careful not to put anything in the trunk. No biggies with the car. I appreciate everyone's help as always. I enjoy how the music changes when travelling, and the extreme "coolness" factor. Only a classic motorcade of Harley's would compare to the experience. I remember the very first time years ago, and I had no idea to expect that I could fix and drive the car. It was a total and wonderful surprise. There were no bugs that happened then. Since I'm about 90% done, I'll just wait for a new game to try again.
