How-to archer?
How-to archer?
Hi, new to the archer. How do strength and dex affect longbow and its attack bonus and damage? I'm just confused, WHY is each stat important?? Also, which armor type is best and why? (dex penalty on certain armor, so if dex is important, I need to know that) Thanks.

Dexterity is the stat that affects your hit with the bow. Strength will only be good for your archer if the bow you are using got the property 'Mighty' added to it. Mighty allows your archer to add his strength to the bow.
If your bow got a mighty +5 added to it, and your strength is 20, you get to add 5 physical damage to each shot you fire.
I would make a archer with high dexterity and a medium strength. I'd also have him use light armors, since the ranger-class (I play rangers when thinking of archers) got some bonus abilities that only work in light armor.
