Missing Essences

Post by Borodin »

I would like to upgrade some weapons to Holy , +5....but to do this I need severeral essences (Faint Power, Faint Water, Glowing Power & Glowing Air).
I've read a "walkthru" that indicates I should have these by now (starting Ch. 3) but I've found none of them. Have I missed something - anybody know where to find this stuff ?????

I can't remember any specific locations, but some essences are purchasable from vendors, but most are gotten from various items throughout the game which can be turned into essences in a mortar.
Things such as various types of spider bones and similar items, have in their tool tip that they can be turned into some essences.
Have you looked at any of these items?

You get esscences by using a Mortle & Pestle on Animal Items, such as

Dire Wolf Tooth
, or by purchasing from vendors, which is rare, but you ca
Spoiler
n also upgrade them by combining them(2 of the same type & level) at the appropriate bench. This also works when you need to downgrade th
em, giving you weaker versions, if necessary.

Don't you just love the spoiler tags..... :mischief:

I agree with the above.

Also, you can right-click on any items you find and the ones that can be turned into essences will say in the description as well we how many ranks you need and what essences will become of your mortar and pestle application.

And yes, you should have enough to make some enchants by the end of Act I let alone III. By III I had dozens of essences stockpiled in a magic bag :D
