spellmaking for enchanting
i tried making a spell and using it to enchant. i followed the advice given to me by previous thread posts. the problem i am having now is that i create a spell, for example, soul trap 3 sec on target, weakness to fire 3 sec on target and fire damage 3 sec on target. i make that one spell and then delete any spells i have that have those components and just keep the one i made. then i go to enchant but instead of my spell it has broken them up into each individual component. what am i missing here???????
If you have a sword with 3 spells cast on it each time it hits it will cast all of them. I have tested this. I am not sure about an item like a ring say. You might trigger each one separately - thats lame if true. Thinking about how the hot key menu picks out magic effects individually I think thats how it works. Constant effects work together because...well they are constant.
If you have shortswords my advice is to carry one that you leave unenchanted (so you use it when everything else recharges), one with soultrap, one with health absorption. They are so light you can carry 3 easy.
BTW soultrap works great with weapons but I'd go for 30 seconds at least if you have the enchant points.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

Whenever you enchant an object, you are simply presented with a list of spell affects that you already know from your spells you have learned. It doesn't matter if you combine several affects into one spell as you have done, you will still only see the breakdown of the different affects you know in the list. You're not just copying a spell onto a sword or what have you, you're just adding affects to the sword. The systems just doesn;t copy spells for enchantment purposes like you are trying to do, you have to mix and match the affects you want from the lists during enchantment.

That shouldn't be a problem though. If you have a spell that combines fire, shock, and soultrap you will be given those in your list of 'effects' (not spells bloodstalker is right). So you pick through a list of effects. The effects you have available are directly proportional to the spells you have ie if you don't know soultrap spell you can't enchant it on your sword.
Another thing to know is that it doesn't matter if your 'spell' for soultrap lasts 1 sec or 120 you get soultrap 'effect' and get to CHOOSE how long the enchanted item casts soultrap for. However if you have it cast 60 sec you need 6 enchant points 120 you need 12 etc...And enchant points come from the ITEM not the spell. CHARGE comes from the soul not the spell, or item.
Also he's right don't make multiple posts with same question. For one thing I really don't know where to answer you and it clutters up game banshee with 'dead end' threads.
