One thing I am eagerly anticipating with Fallout 3 (hopefully), is the ability to create/download user- or developer- created mods. I'm still on the fence about my willingness to pay for these as they are released ($ for horse armor?), however I do like the idea of being able to "customize" the game, especially on the PC. Bethesda, of course, has not yet commented on whether or not Fallout 3 will be customizable (like Oblivion), however it seems to me like a safe bet that it will be.
With that said, I'm curious to find out what other people think about this, and whether or not anyone would be willing to create their own mods for Fallout 3. I know I, for one, plan on porting over as much stuff from Oblivion into the Fallout 3 universe as possible. Just kidding.
Please, no console vs. PC posts here, go create a different thread if you want to talk about that.

Well, given Bethseda's history of providing modding tools for their previous games, most notably, Morrowind and Oblivion, I'm not surprised if Fallout 3 will have this feature as well. As for paying for mods, I hope that they dropped this idea because there were quite a lot of complaints when Bethseda released some horse armour mod that you have to pay in order to download it.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
Agreeing with Des here...
ANd as Bethesda has also reputation in making games that NEED to be modded for having better replay value (same Morrowind and Oblivion), I would actually be suprised if there was no way to mod the game...
It is on the other hand big question how much you can change or mod in Fallout 3. But only time will show us that...

I think it would be difficult for Bethesda NOT to include mods in Fallout 3, considering how successful they were with Oblivion. Especially since this seems to be a general trend with most RPG's, as there are a lot of people out there who would like to make their own user-created content. All you have to do is take a look at all the mods that have been created for Fallout 1 and 2, and I think there would be a lot of pissed-off, formerly loyal fans if the developers decided not to allow mods.
Nah, I'm pretty sure they bought it for a pretty dollar.
