ok well I want to say that books are one of the hardest things to place that is if you want them all on end side by side. If your on the PC drop the item and then instead of picking it up use the hold the Z botten and walk. This will allow ylu to move the item. I would recomend putting the hand ove the corner of the book then holding Z. I do not know what the botton on the 360 you need to push in order to move items. As I said before books are one of the hardest things to place in the game and is very trying. So just stay calm and have take time to practice. good luck

Pretty sure it's LB on the 360. Also, If you're in run mode, turn it off or you'll send stuff flying everywhich way when you try to place it. You can use sneak mode to slow down even more to get better accuracy.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

If your on the 360 putting books into shelves is the single hardest thing to do. It was easier for me to help destroy Meruhnes Dagon, then fill 4 shelves with books. It took me around an hour to finally get all the books upright and in their shelves. It looks great now, but before you try be prepared to spend some time doing it. Also, save after everycouple of books is in the right place. It is the worst to have gotten 4 books in only to mess up on the fifth and wreck the whole shelf.
