HOTU: Romances - any point? (SPOILERS)

Post by BilaTheBloody »

Is there any point in romancing anyone in HOTU storyline-wise?

I am playing a male character and have managed to get Nathyrra to confess her love for me at the beginning of chapter 3 - is there anything else i.e. any epiloge like BG2?

I've also just found Aribeth - could I romance her too and would there be any repercussions by Nathyrra if she is in my party too?

Also to get Aribeth, I will have to drop Deakin - does he have any storyline if I don't?

Thanks.

Deekin has the bard/book writing storyline that runs through SOU/HOTU but nothing major, he's just fun to have around.

You can romance henchman but it won't really effect the story if you don't, except it may offer a couple more options at the end, and Deekin is handy at the end too for the same reason. I won't go into details though as it will spoil a lot of the story if I do.

Please go into details - I don't have an old save game to replay to find out myself.

I will add spoiler to the title too.

<Edit> I can't seem to so can you do it?

I changed it. Once a post is made, you can edit it, but only mods can change the titles. Don't know why that is, but it is.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Spoilers about ending so highlight to read:
Spoiler
In the final battle, if you have Deekin he will automatically refuse to betray you and will not side with Mephi-whats-his-name and if you complete a romance with a henchman then they won't betray you either no matter what Mephi says to them

Just completed the game and managed to have a harem at the end!

I've living happlily with both Aribeth and Nathyrra even though Nathyrra is the Sleeping Man's love and he lived apparently lived happily with her too.

Drow have interesting relationships...

<Edit> Just remembered that neither of these ladies are my true love - guess that half orcs have interesting relationships as well!

Also remembered that if you know Deakins real name he won't just blindly follow you in the final battle - you'll have to persuade/order him with his real name to not join you as you broke his trust.

Thought you might want to know.
