Multiclassing and Animal Companions
Multiclassing and Animal Companions
Can multiclass characters have more than one animal companion at once? For example, a Ranger/Druid/Cleric(with Animal Domain) have three animal companions at once?

Nope, doesn't work that way. You just gain more of an effective druid level for your one animal companion to make him stronger.
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

@ Killboro, To be honest, I don't see that as a major problem. Chances are the only benefit you have from your boar is a minor decoy that can't hit anything. Unless you went very heavy on ranger levels and took only 1 wizard level and a handful of Arcane Archer levels. Even then, a rangers companion is a lot weaker than the character who summons it without multi-classing. No loss there really. The rabbit on the other hand, provides a +1 to all saves. Something useful there.
All things considered, I think it was something the developers did to encourage players to rest before leaving an area. Not that it was a good idea, but they turned the game into an action/ RPG, and it fits with the theme of the game.
"You can do whatever you want to me."
"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"
"So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"

hehe hands back from my boar!!
ok have a look - Kearra was fine on lower lvls, something like lil tanker - now, its weaker and 1st lvl ranger's spell Fang seems bugged, cuz my ranger can never cast it (crap!), but i am buffing whole party with bless from some artefact...
and like u said i got 9lvls in ranger class, then 1 wizz (and true, rabbit is only for +1 to saves, not for image...) and now some 4-5lvls in arcane archer
+u can use boar really good - cuz he is attacking for sight - so most enemies start attacking him and some fireballs kill them really fast then or it can destroy some traps too
i have another idea about action rpg, but i really loved BG or ID

this resting part/area loading sux badly - after resting i can smash most enemies really easy on hardcore difficulty... +loading 23 areas etc and then short movie comes - for 10secs - then new loading 23areas another short video etc - making me mad sometimesAll things considered, I think it was something the developers did to encourage players to rest before leaving an area.
