Need Help - Final Battle

Post by Rabain »

Hiyas,

I need a bit of help with the Final Battle against Morag. I've read throught the other Final Battle post here and most of them seem to be mage or cleric PC's. I am a Paladin 10 / Champion of Torm 5 and have Tomi as a companion.

I get eaten by Morags Hands and Morags spells, I could probably kill the hands but he spells are just zapping me.

Any suggestions for tactics? I know about killing the statue and the defence thingies around Morag but the Hands are getting before I can even get to them.

Oh and Tomi seems to like dying.

The easiest tactic for the hands is to try to lure them into the corridor leading into the room where the final battle takes place. You can then fight them without interference from Morag. Once they are dead, then go back in and focus on Morag and her priests etc.

I have to say i was very dissappointed with the difficulty of the final battle.

On one hand my Paladin who had wielded Warhammers throughout the entire game could not damage Morag, the statue or any of the protection things with his +3 hammer yet switching to the Greataxe picked up from one of "Morag's Hands" defeated the fire protection thing and Morag in about 1 minute.

Having a weapon in the same chamber that renders the protections invalid is kind of stupid but then again having a class that could do no damage at all is also problematic. Without reloading and picking up a Potion of Lore to identify the Greataxe I would never have completed the final battle and Neverwinter would indeed have been over run and the Old Ones returned.

I came away from the last battle with a very bitter taste in my mouth...is there a scenario in which you can indeed lose the game without dying? Such as my example above of simply not being able to beat Morag and running out of time. If not there should be but it definately did not feel that way...there wasn't even a chance to go back to Neverwinter and have everyone thank me or get anything in reward for my success...what a gyp!
