NewGame: Consular/JediMAster Suggestions?

Post by limitedwhole »

Hey, I am starting a new game as a female Consular/JediMAster.

I am starting with the following stats, STR 8, DEX 10, CON 14, INT 10, WIS 16, CHR 16

Any thoughts on these stats? The CON is high simply to get the +2 CHR, +2WIS implant once I get the +2 CON bonus form HK. Worth it? I plan on using lightsaber:finesse and buffing mainly WIS and CHR. Using +4 DEX item for tough combats.

A few questions. I searched but didn't find difintative answer. When do items spawn? When I load a map? If so, the cave isn't so hard to repawn right. The critters are weak and can be force waved easily with a few melee characters in party. Force speed allows to you get to the crystal fast after reload. Also when does inventory spawn? With map spawn? Does this mean I should save before loading salvager camp to get better crystal inventory?

Okay did a little testing for the character. Decided to go male for the bonus from the handmaiden.

Str: 8
Dex: 12
Con: 12
Int: 14
Wis: 16
Chr: 14

Allocate 4 points to Persuade, Awareness, and Repair. Save 4 points. Select the security feat. (HArd to open stuff on difficult setting). I plan on allocating all points to wisdom. Will focus on repair, computer use, persuade, and awareness. Will minor in security and treat injury, just enough to get by the standard fare.

Will likely take the following feats
Advanced and Master Jedi Defense
3 Lvls in two weapon fighting
2 lvls to master flurry
Regen force Points
Security
Computer
Finesse Lightsaber

Equipment hopefully:
Ossus Keeper with Bio upgrade and reflex upgrade (giong to check if anything but reflex works)
Jal-Shey Mentor Belt/Qel-Drama switching
Jay Shey MEditation Gloves
Circlet of Saresh/Force Focus Visor switching
Mental Boost Implant

I mighht have some more combat oriented gear to switch to if I have to saber. Also skills gear of course. For sabers, three.

Main Light saber with Kaiburr, Kasha, Ultimate Diatum, Expert Deflector, Ossus Dueling

Main Shortsaber with Personal Crystal, Kaiburr, Ultimate Diatum, Exper Deflection, Ossus Dueling

Secondary Saber for fighting with Ankarres Sapphire, Solari, Ultimate Diatum, Refined Fobium, Enhanced Byrothsis

Am only going to take light side powers, as I feel odd using DS with a LS character. LS are plenty powerful to get the job done.

quick thought -

using only light side & neutral powers you won't need much of a wisdom / cha bonus esp considering the consular bonus to saves and the high fp's of both classes.

otoh you may be fighting more than someone using force lightning. so you may be better off with a wis of 14 and using the extra points to boost physical stats.

i'd not worry about regen force points feat. running out of fp's isn't a worry.

as far as combat feats, i prefer either critical strike or power attack compared to flurry. i'd go with 3 levels of pa instead.

Hey, boost up your strength, I've found if you don't have a fairly strong character, your not going to make it through the game.

Well , i took one of your suggestions and lowered wisdom by two points and raised Dex and CON by two. I may think about force point regen, but is good through most of the game, and it would feel silly looking at your character sheet at the nd and not having forcepoint regen as a consular. As for attack, I am using flurry without question. The others use a STR check and have negeative modyfiers, something a consular cannot afford. I deals allot of damage and gives you more chances for critical strikes.

Also to sith dog, STR isn't important to a consular type character. The difference in a really high strength and a low strength is like 10 point sof damage. Coincidentally Forcewave does far more than that. Dex increases defense and to hit which is important for the consular as he can't afford stuff like toughness, nor does he get allot of damage reduced perks etc. Midgame as long as you hit witha master flurry it is enough. Lategame, everything goes down with pure Forcewave, except the main bosses. Hence fighting becomes important then. Against Drath Sion, defense is ver important, he can kill a conular in one hit. Force wave will give you breathing room but not stun and if you get too much breathing room, he will force jump. Against Kreai, Lightsaber is best, she is no match for you in a duel. When the three sabers pop up, forcewave takes them out while injuring Kreai, then back to SAber.
