Display Cases

Post by Asher »

Ok I have bought a house and all the decoration for it and in those decos came several display cases but when I open them and try to put swtuff in I cant get it to work. the item always goes off in another direstiuon or on the floor or well anywhere but in the display case. is it possible top put items in there? If so is there a strick to it? Or are they just for looks? I have tried everything from rings to axes to arrows and armor I cant get anything in the cases.

Where an item falls when you drop it from you inventory is pretty unpredictable, so it would take a wild coincidence for it to fall right into the case. Once it's on the floor or wherever, move your cursor over it and hold in the Z key on PC to "grab" it (not sure which button on 360, maybe LB?). Then you can move the item around with the cursor (move slowly or it will crash into something and go flying). Anyway, just grab it and move it into the case.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

The Z key gives you a 3rd hand. :) You can carry a single item with it even when are fully loaded with items in your inventory (actually, you can carry a number of the SAME items 'stacked' into one, which is VERY useful!)

As Belthan said, be careful. It is a good idea to be in Walk mode when you carry stuff in the Z hand. But with a little gentle maneouvering you should be able to place items anywhere you want 'em. You DO need a little patience, though!

You're welcome! :)

The hardest things to place are books on bookshelves. No problem to stack 'em flat, but if you want 'em to stand on their ends, like in a real bookcase, you need more patience than I possess - and I have a lot!
You might manage to get one book on it's end, but when you try to place another beside it....!!!!! :speech:
