Wishes and Deck of Many Things...

Post by egomann »

Does anyone have information about the choices and requirements for a full wish, and also what happens with the Deck of Many Things. Thanks.

Ok- I can pretty much answer the deck of many things question-
Basically, the deck has two states- the scripted state where the cambion has it and you gamble against him and the random state if you kill the cambion a.

The scripted state seems to vary upon which char you use to gamble with but most of the options are bad. And even the good options seem to hurt you. If you have remove curse/dispel you can overcome most of these- and I recommend trying to win the scimitar- the best in the game- The options in the scipted part are not the same options you get when actually drawing from the deck as an item. (For example, there is no "plague" option when you actually the item.

I also recommend killing the cambion before you gamble the third time- that way you get the deck. To use the deck- put it in your use slot and click on it- you get three tries, and if you want to be cheesy- can reload as much as you want.
If you are like me and bitter that the evil path got much better gains in hell, you can do this to get another point of strength for your protag fighter.

Not going to post each specific good/bad option, but I can give you a quick rundown-
good options include: +5% fire resistance, +1 to your main stat, long-term mantle cast on you, +25K experience, 600K exp, +1 mil exp, +10 hit points, a ring of protection +3 and gems.
Bad options include save vs being imprisoned/killed, having saves lowered permanently, getting attacked by 5 Demonknights, getting attacked by fire elementals and a demon, getting attacked by death, getting dire charmed, having your gold vanish.

Hope this helps, but looking back it looks more confusing.

I read on setsunas faq that drawing the last card instead of killing him may give you a permanent mind shield. is thatt really true, isnt that a little TOO good? anyone tried this?
