Arcane Archer DENIED

I ported my half elf Ranger/Rogue (13/4) over from NWN to HotU. I decided I wanted to try the Arcane Archer prestige class, and all I seemed to be lacking was a Weapon Focus on a bow so, when I leveled up to Ranger(14) I chose Weapon Focus long bow. I've just rescued Halasher (sp?) which facilitated a level-up, but Arcane Archer is not available to me! I am half elf (note the ears) and I verified I have Point Blank Shot. I'm not sure what Base Attack Bonus +6 means, but I'm eligible to choose Champion of Torm, with a Base Attack Bonus req of +7, so I'm sure I meet that req. The only other thing is ability to cast 1st level Arcane spells. Now, I'm not quite sure what that means, but I've been casting 3rd level spells, so I assume I qualify. Anyone know why I'm denied the Arcane Archer?

An arcane archer needs to have at least one level of an arcane spell casting class. A ranger is a divine caster. You would need to have something bard, wizard or sorceror instead of the rogue if you wanted a ranger/arcane archer.

Damn, that's what I was afraid of. Since I already have Rogue (4) and adding a wix or sorcerer would make 3 classes, wouldn't that be my limit? I wouldn't be able to add Arcane Archer as my 4th class, right?

No, there's a max limit of 3 classes

Thanks, Sir, looks like I start over... or maybe try going epic ranger... hmmm.

Haha. Just start over 'cause Undermountain's easy. At hardest difficulty I can get through CHap. 1 in 3-4hrs tops. Prestige CLasses are a lot more fun then Epics.
