Dark Brotherhood Quick Question (Spoilers)

Post by Siberys »

Curious about the dark brotherhood and it's features, and I'd rather not look up spoilers to solve this simple answer-

With many of the quests I'm going to do, it is quite possible to get caught right? That's what I want, I want to have to use sneak and have to use invisibility, I want to not get caught, but if it's not gonna provide me that realism, then I might as well not even do it.

So, in game terms, if I do a random dark brotherhood quest, is it possible in any of them that I will either be pursued by the guards or have a bounty placed on my head?

This is my first time with the DB, and it's a lot more interesting than senseless killing, but I still want the realism.

Definitely possible to get caught in many of the missions, and not only can you end up with a bounty and guards on your tail, but (spoiler) you also usually forfeit your bonus if anyone sees you do the deed, and sometimes if you kill any witnesses or bystanders.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

Ahh, thanks very much for that. I just don't want every DB quest to be set up to where if I get caught, it'll never be by the guards, so this works.

Hopefully I won't get caught though, paid good money for that invisibility spell.

A good Chameleon spell, along with a good Sneak level is better than Invisibility. It you take any action with Invis, it goes off. Chameleon stays operative.

invisibility is still very useful. it is good for sneaking around/past a person or if you are close to death you xcan use it to get away from the person/creature

also there is one were you have to go back trough the place you came out of in the beginning, to kill the guy that was annoying you while you were locked up, but there are gaurd all around. And sometimes its not easy to get past them, but there is a way.

I did it got all the way there and a gaurd just sits there right outside of the guys cell, if you have a good enough sneak then he wont see you.

Sorry if thats tooo much.

This will make things clearer...

Spells good for Theiving guild and DB

DB spells: chamleon cause you have to kill and sneak at the same time pretty much.

TG spells: Invisiblilty cause you can't kill and you need a REALLY good sneaking advantage.

so your guna want the Chamelon spell.

New question about that then, for those who know about making spells.

If I have a chamelion spell of 15% for 30 seconds, and I want to make a new chamelion spell, can I change that 15% to a higher value? I know the 30 seconds is easily done, but at least 45% might definitely be needed.

You create a spell with 100% chamelon at the arcane university that i think will give you the same invis bonus as the invisiblilty spell (I'm not sure though)

The only catch is you have to have a high enough Illusion skill and enough magicka to cast it, but if you've got that covered it's actually better than invisibility because it isn't dispelled when you take an action like attacking or opening a door.
