Bala's Axe
Bala's Axe
Hi, I found this weapon a while ago in the planar sphere engine room and I have two questions about it. First of all I was wondering if it is in the standard game or comes from a mod. Secondly, is it any good? It seems powerfull but is only 1d8 with no to hit or damage bonuses so it might be hard to actually hit anything with it? Does it bypass PFMW because it is unenchanted?

I've never seen the Bala's Axe before so I'm inclined to think it's a mod weapon. Still it doesn't sound like a very good weapon anyway and there are plenty of good axes out there with good modifiers available.
Try the Copper Coronent and the De'arnise keep for a few of them.

Bala's Axe is an actually item from the Baldur's Gate expansion "Tales of the Sword Coast."
I don't know about finding it anywhere in BGII, but it is possible to bring that item into BGII.
Very nice anti-caster weapon.

“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”
My money is on that it's transferable from BG1, just like golden pantalons, horn of kazgaroth and a few other pieces of equipment. It would mean, however, that Horus had it when finishing BG1 and he doesn't seem to remember the weapon...
Well, Horus, did you import your game from a BG1 playthrough? It might've been hiding in your inventory - if not, it's a weapon from a mod, because it certainly isn't there in the vanilla game.
